"Manufacturing is Central Indiana’s largest industry, employing 106,700 people, but the industry has morphed into advanced manufacturing, focusing on process rather than product and an emphasis on customer satisfaction.  Central Indiana can expect at least 2,300 new manufacturing jobs and possibly as many as 4,600 through 2010, in addition to job openings created through retirement and other attrition."
