PII presented the Sales Directors Breakfast Club series in February and early March, 2010.

Did you miss this series of 5 HANDS ON workshops, which included personal coaching between each session.  Participants learned, practiced and executed new ideasm returning each week and for a review and the next step!  With all five steps completed, series attendees became PROs.

The printing industry has been specifically identified by OSHA's revised National Emphasis Program (NEP) as an industry segment with high amputation rates. In response, Printing Industries of America, along with related industry trade groups (including PII), has published What You Need to Know for Safe Equipment Operation, a guideline for reducing the risk of amputation and other serious injuries in the commercial lithographic printing industry.  Available through Printing Industries Press for $139 ($79 for PII members), PII is distributing this 106 page book, which includes a CD Rom of supplemental materials, free to all current members of the Association.  If your company is a PII member and hasn't yet received this spiral bound green and tan publication, contact Sabina Fritzgerald at 312-580-3115, . Twice each year, employers must check with the state of Illinois to ensure the temp or temp-to-perm service they use is registered with the state. The regulations state that “Third party clients have a duty to verify that a day and temporary labor service agency is registered with the Department before entering into a contract with the agency, and again on March 1 and September 1 of each year.  Third party clients may verify that an agency is registered by consulting the Department's website.” Along with verifying the registration of your agency, if the employee works only one day, the client employer must also issue a work-verification at the end of that day.  The listing and verification forms are at www.state.il.us/agency/idol/listings/dlagency.htm and www.state.il.us/agency/idol/forms/pdfs/sampleverification.pdf.
